Procedures:

  • Application for registration of postgraduate degrees by research, are acceptable all the year round.
  • Application and registration dates for the various postgraduate degrees, are announced in the different media systems.
  • Application forms can be obtained from S.A.S central administration, or from the required Program Coordinator, after paying the stipulated registration fees.
  • Applicants need to aquent themselves with the relevant SAS and program regulations.
  • Two copies of the application form filled in print or clear hand writing need to be handed over.
  • Two photographs, passport size, are to be attached with the application from.
  • Originals and a copy of each of the qualification certificates awarded to the applicant are required to be attached with the application form. The original certificates will be returned to the applicant after official inspection.
  • Applicants for postgraduate degrees are required to name two persons as reference, to be contacted for any additional information supporting the candidates’ application.
  • The Registrar can ask public and private sectors officials to present a partial or full leave of absence certification, in accordance with the study requirements of the advertised program.
  • The completed application form and the required documents are to be handed over to the relevant specialized Program Registrar for inspection.
  • Application forms are then sent to the program Coordinator, who will submit them to relevant program Directors for revision and recommendation.
  • The recommendation on the application is then presented to the program Coordinating Council, which takes its final decision according to the following alternatives:
    • Acceptance without a qualifying examination.
    • Acceptance after passing a qualifying examination.
    • Acceptance only after studying and passing certain ancillary courses offered by a recognized Academy or institute.
    • Acceptance and studying the program requirement courses.
    • Rejection of the application.
    • .(m): Recommendation of the program coordination Council is then submitted to the Central Registration and Admission Committee for endorsement of the recommendation, and then raising the matter for the final decision by SAS Senate, in its first following meeting.
  • Admission:
    • Applicant admission to MSc degree by research or PhD is sent by a letter issued by the Postgraduate Studies Coordinator, in accordance with the recommendation of the relevant Program Research Council, or any other committees concerned with postgraduate studies, and after endorsement of the research project plan, appointment of the chief supervisor and signature of the relevant Research Council Chairman.
    • The name of the applicants recommended for admission are advertised on SAS advertisement board and extended to the Program Coordination Councils, on the basis of the approval of the Admission and Registration Subcommittee of SAS Senate.
  • Registration Procedures
    • Students are registered for admission on a relevant program, in the special Council after paying the stipulated program registration fees.
    • A copy of the filled registration form is returned to relevant Program Coordinator.
    • Student recommended for registration are registered as full-time or part-time students. Part-time students can be registered under special conditions.
    • All registered students are obliged to receive their registration cards from the program Registrar or from SAS authorities, and show it on request.
    • e) The registration card is issued to the students who paid the prescribed study fees, in full.
    • Registered students have to renew their registration cards, one year after registration. The Coordinator of the special program has the right to rescind the registration of any student, on the basis of the relevant Research Council recommendation, in case that the student could not start his assigned research work three months after his/her registration date.
